I have worked with many children with attachment issues and have a firm understanding of the unique and often-difficult issues faced by adoptive families. Through my experience I have learned to differentiate between normal developmental issues, normal adoption issues, and abnormal responses to life events. I understand that while adoption is a joyous and welcome event for many families, loss is inherent in the process. I have experience with grief work with both children and adults and am comfortable working with these issues. I work from a family systems perspective where my focus is on the family as a whole as well as its individual members. I can assist your family and children through any part of the adoption process and am knowledgeable of the issues that may arise throughout your experience. |
